LEVEL 1
Swimmers in Level 1 should expect to become more comfortable in the water. They will learn to keep their face in the water, blow bubbles, open their eyes underwater, use arms, and other fundamental movements necessary in becoming strong swimmers.
LEVEL 2
Swimmers in Level 2 should expect to build on skills in Level 1. They will learn to be more independent in an aquatic environment, learn more technical skills like side breathing, and the fundamentals of the four competitive strokes.
LEVEL 3
Swimmers in Level 3 should expect to build on skills in Level 1 and 2. They will learn to be independent in an aquatic environment, and more technical skills in the four competitive strokes. At this level, they should be able to swim greater distances without help from an instructor.
PARENT TAUGHT
Parent or guardian will be expected to be in the water with their child during each class. Students will learn how to be more comfortable in the water and be introduced to basic survival skills.
The City of Batesville Parks and Recreation Department is offering sessions of swimming lessons for children ages 6 months to 15yrs of age. Sessions are two weeks in length and classes are Monday, and Wednesday. All classes will be held at the Batesville Aquatics Center. The cost is $40.00 per participant per session. We’ll be taking a small break in April from all lessons. We’ll start registration in May!
ADULT LESSONS
Swimmers in the adult swimming lessons should expect to learn competency in the water, comfortable in deep water, and basic stroke mechanics. Much of this class will depend on the class participants needs and skill levels.
This is a one (1) hour class provided by the City of Batesville for ages 16 and up. This class will take place at the Batesville Community Center Competition Pool. The cost of each two-week session is $65. We’ll be taking a small break in April from all lessons. We’ll start registration in May!
KEY LOG ROLLING
Learn the early art of log rolling while improving balance, building confidence and having a great time!
